Foundation for Protection Officers The Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) awarded 12 American Military University (AMU) students scholarships designed to benefit veterans enrolled in AMU programs related to retail loss prevention and asset protection. As part of a new program announced earlier this year, LPF awarded the scholarships for certification-review courses that will prepare students to take the LPQualified (LPQ) examination and earn a widely-recognized certification for the loss prevention industry.“On behalf of The Loss Prevention Foundation's board of directors, our members, and all LP-certified professionals, we congratulate all of the deserving AMU recipients,” said Allan Watters, senior vice president asset protection for Sports Authority and chairman LPF Scholarship Committee. “This career-enhancing course will provide each veteran an opportunity to learn how retail loss prevention can be an exciting and rewarding career.”The costs of the course scholarships were provided by ebay, Inc. as part of LPF’s Partnership Scholarship Program. AMU will cover the costs of the certification exam for LPF scholarship recipients who complete the review course. “The LPF Military Transition Committee is excited about being able to partner with AMU in granting these deserving veterans LPQ scholarships,” said John Clark, director of corporate asset protection for Sports Authority and chairman of the selection committee. “AMU has been a tremendous education partner in helping LPF to attract more veterans into loss prevention,” said Paul Jones, LPC, Head of Gloabal Asset Protection, ebay and vice-chairman of LPF.

According to Justin Flynn, a consultant at the Burwood Group, the virtualization of data centers allows enterprises to scale more easily and faster, with a smaller footprint.
However, hosting enterprise data in the cloud can make intrusion detection more difficult – how can enterprise security leaders team up with other departments to keep aware of cyber risks and traffic, and physical and data compliance during the virtual transition? How can CISOs and CSOs discuss cyber threats with the C-Suite to get the resources they need? And how can the proper infrastructure test and verify possible malicious attacks?
